Fishing Game Players fish for prizes! Use a large appliance box, a blue sheet hung across a doorway or a covered table to create a hiding spot for an adult or older child to hide behind and give prizes to the players who are fishing. Make fishing poles by tying string to a stick and attach a clothespin on the end of the string. Birthday guests take turns casting the line into the water. The person in the water puts small gifts, favors or candy on the clothespin and then tugs the string to signal that there is a fish on the line. Then kids pull up the line and retrieve their prize. Have lots of prizes because they will all want to play this game again and again!
Ask them to share their best life advice and any photos they’d like to include for the newest adult member of the family. Present the bound scrapbook at the birthday dinner and read the pages aloud. Afterward, bring on the frosting swirls, ice cream and, of course, the gifts. Don't forget the gifts!
Have you got another kid birthday party coming up? It’s probably one of the most special days for your child. And, as parents, we want to give it our best. But how?! Where do we even begin? How do we throw a birthday party that’s so special without having to throw away so much money?! And if we don’t pay for entertainer or a special venue, how will we entertain the kids without losing our minds? How will we decorate? What will they eat? All these questions and so many more immediately spring up.
